Altered thimble holder

A cute, little project for the weekend - simply a house chaped thimble holder I picked up at the car boot for 50p, painted it white and decorated. I love it - its so pastel and pretty and looks lovely in my craft room too.

Oooh acrylic letters

I came across this site yesterday whilst looking for some individual wooden letters and was amazed to see they also do acrylic letters - great prices at £1 for a 8-12cm acrylic letter and 35p for the same size in wooden. A whole range of different sizes and fonts too....off to create a shopping list now LOL

With the wonderful British bank holiday coming up I have decided to take some me time and do more crafting than normal as Ive been so run off my feet the last 2 weeks starting a new job.

I came across this gorgeous tutorial - I love Elle's Studio to bits anyway, take a look at her shop as she has some gorgeous tags that I have bought from her in the past, and fear not even though she is in the US she ships to the UK!

So the weekend will be spent making a few new cards and attempting this lovely project...now to find me an old book with yellowed pages LOL

A quick half hour play!

Had a quick play today as I spent most of the day chilling with this gorgeous weather! The frame was a bargain 29p from Home Bargains, I simply took the glass out and decorated.

And a quick easel card which I have dying to try - theres a simple and quick video here on YouTube if you need any help, I think they are so lovely to make. Notice I played with my Texture Boutique as well!!!

Its raining ribbons!!

Im so in love with these ribbons that I had to share with you!! I came across a fab site called Crafty Ribbons as I wanted to top up my ribbon stash and started to add a few pretties to my basket as they were really reasonable. One of the items I added was called Bev's ribbon bag and it was a mix of different spring ribbons for £5 - my jaw dropped open when they arrived! Normally Im ultra cautious with ribbon packs as there is always something I dont like and it ends up being a bit of a waste of money but these were amazing.

14 separate 1m length gorgeous ribbons in beautiful colours - some satin and some organza all between 1-2 inches wide. Here's a few close ups so you get a feel.

Nip over to the site and have a nose around as theres some great ribbons and if you look at the bottom of
the home page theres a link to the blog where there is a question to get free shipping too!! It looks like there's a new bag at now but you never know she might have some of these bags left if you contact her!!

Beatiful sunday treat day

What a stunning weekend its been with this gorgeous weather - was up early today to go to the car boot sale with Mum as I hadnt been to our regular one for a few years and boy was I amazed at how great it was..I was like a kiddy in a sweet shop with so many stalls and as they say "one man's junk is another man's treasure"! We were wandering around for a good 3 hours (well with rest for burger and coke!) and picked up some amazing bargains - I bought a couple of gorgeous metal baskets for my craft room and some more thimble holders to paint and Mum found a couple of incredible 3x3' wrought iron pot holders and the man only wanted 10p each, I think she nearly fell over when she asked him as she was expecting him to say about £10!! Cant wait to go again next week!
Came home and decided to treat myself - last night I was originally looking at the new pink Cuttlebugs but was umming a little as I only wanted it for card embossing and then I came across the Texture Boutique - I think I missed the release of that one! It was perfect and at only £21 so Ive gone ahead and treated myself along with a few embossing folders.........its calmed my nerves a little as I start a new job tomorrow!!

Love it to bits!

With all the talk of decorating vintage printers trays I remembered that I had an old wooden thimble holder / display box in the garage that I hadnt done anything with for over a year (originally a bargain Ebay purchase for £5), so out it came armed with black paint and I began!
One thing you learn is that as you get older you start to turn into your mother - the amount of times I had laughed at her for getting paint on nice clothes and not bothering to change, well theres me doing exactly the same!
Emtying boxes everywhere in my craft room my desk was strewn with embellishments for me to pick and choose from, I knew I wanted it for my dining room so it was just a case of finding the right pretties. All in all it took just over an hour (minus painting) and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I cant wait now to do another in white and pastels for my craft room.

Check out my 2 favs in the 2Peas gallery:

Card time

Those of you who know me know that my roots originated in wedding stationery and after a chat with Caz today I decided that it was time to do some cards which were long overdue - its funny how you do something for a living and then end up getting frustrated as it becomes a process rather than a craft and you lose the true enjoyment for what you are doing....today I felt that passion come back and actually felt empowered again! The gorgeous confetti butterflies were an Etsy find quite a while back from Ormolu and the lovely card envelopes were from PDA Card and Craft (yep I know I can be lazy LOL).

Finally I found one!

Ive been looking for a precision glue gun after being fed up with the big blobs mine seems to deliver - it was looking as though I might have to shell out £30 for the priviledge until I turned to fleabay and upon closer inspection of this one saw that it had an unusual nozzle and yay it was a precision one at 0.7mm (about 2/3 smaller than my current one) and all for a bargain £10 delivered, cant wait to receive it now!

Crafty morning!

Didn't originally feel up to much this morning as I seem to be coming down with a cold but as I had bought 2 frames on the market yesterday for £1 each (!!!) I decided I had the mojo to get cracking on them. The frames were originally pine and I painted them with a couple of coats of white acrylic last night - surprisingly they coated really well. The one above is for Mums new bedroom in gorgeous lime, fuschia and turq - Hayal is Turkish for sleep, and the one below is going in my kitchen to brighten it up. Loving them to bits and so easy to do!

Off now to leave Mums in her bedroom as a suprise and then dashing to Tesco - how exciting LOL

The long awaited Posh Pins have arrived to A Beautiful Me - Ive been busy with the beginnings and with many more to come....just waiting on the packaging before they disappear into my Etsy store.
